Beyond the Boardroom Suit: How Prajakta Bhujbal is Redefining Executive Presence

For years, Prajakta Bhujbal stood at a cutting table, designing impeccable outfits for clients who wanted to look successful. Yet, despite the perfect fit and premium fabrics, the same complaint echoed repeatedly from her clients: “I look the part, but I don’t feel like a leader.”

It was a defining moment. Bhujbal realised that while a good suit could command attention, it could not command respect.

Today, as the founder of Palette, Bhujbal has transitioned from a fashion designer to a strategic Image Consultant for India’s corporate leaders. She is dismantling the age-old myth that image consulting is merely about grooming, arguing instead that true authority comes from the alignment of mindset, behaviour, and digital identity.

The Gap Between Looking Good and Leading Well

"Clothing can support you, but it cannot carry you," Bhujbal says. This insight drove her to move beyond the aesthetics of fashion and dive into the deeper science of Image Management. She pursued global frameworks in body analysis, colour theory, and professional presence, but she didn’t stop at certification.

Through years of observing corporate dynamics, Bhujbal identified a critical gap. Most professionals were trying to fix internal confidence issues with external retail therapy. They believed a new watch or a better blazer would cure imposter syndrome.

“The reality,” Bhujbal notes, “is that leaders are no longer just seen; they are searched, followed, and judged across physical and digital spaces. If your behaviour or digital footprint contradicts your appearance, trust is lost instantly.”

The ABCD Framework: A Modern Blueprint

To address this, Bhujbal introduced the ABCD Framework a diagnostic tool she uses to help CXOs and founders build a holistic brand.

  • A - Appearance: Does the visual presentation match the industry and role?

  • B - Behaviour: Punctuality, listening skills, and etiquette. Bhujbal asserts that habits communicate louder than clothes.

  • C - Communication: Beyond language fluency it is about tone, clarity, and the ability to articulate a vision.

  • D - Digital Presence: In a hybrid world, a leader’s LinkedIn profile and online content are often their first handshake.

“Often, leaders are strong in one area but weak in others,” she explains. “My role as a consultant is to bring balance, not to create a caricature of perfection.”

Authority Without Noise

What sets Bhujbal’s approach apart in a loud market is her philosophy of "Quiet Authority." In an era of aggressive personal branding, she advocates for alignment over noise.

She works closely with clients to bridge the gap between their intention and the public’s perception. The process involves deep listening and self-paced action, ensuring that the transformation is sustainable rather than a temporary makeover.

“You do not need to shout to be respected,” Bhujbal affirms. “When mindset, behaviour, and appearance align, authority follows naturally.”

From the cutting table to the boardroom, Prajakta Bhujbal’s journey highlights a shift in Indian corporate culture: the realisation that the most powerful leaders don’t just dress the part they embody it.
